Living with Depression

INTRODUCTION
Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is such an alarming mental health issue that affects millions of people all around the world, and its high prevalence captures the world’s attention. Due to high stress, many people attempt suicide, and some of them succeed in one aspect. The high suicide rate is alarming because this mental illness has that much power, which makes you capable and gives you negative energy through which you are empowered enough to take your breath in multiple ways. MDD is recognised when a person who used to enjoy previous activities now lacks a sense of pleasure and interest in them. This is a high sign that shows that the person is suffering from MDD. This changes the whole person’s psychology and alters his sleeping, eating,  and even walking persona. This wide range influences mental illnesses and needs a daily assessment with the proper treatment. Emotional, cognitive,  and physical aspects of the person with MDD People with this mental illness have a sense of shame, low self-esteem, and high discomfort. They got irritated easily. Causes:
MDD is caused by a complex of various combinations of biological, psychological, and environmental factors. The fusion of many factors contributes to depression, and this can be worse if not taken care of. Humans who are suffering from this mental illness seem sad all around the clock. He has no hope for a good life or any kind of motivation for improvement. All he is doing is absorbing the negative aspects and seeing the negative aspects of everything. It is important to remember that sadness afflicts anyone, and regardless of how smart you are, you need to go through the cycle of sadness. If someone loses a beloved one, due to this loss, he won’t be able to cope with depression, and all negative environments make things worse.


Biological Factor: Genetics plays a huge role in it. If a family member or a blood relative is suffering from this disease, the young person is more likely to develop the sign of depression.
Brain structure: changes in brain structure play another significant role. The hippocampus usually controls the moods, and if it gets smaller, the person has to go through many emotional changes.


Hormonal variation: puberty, pregnancy, and menopause all have a high fluctuation of hormones, which can result in depression.
Psychological Factor: depression is exacerbated by low self-esteem and a history of traumatic or stressful situations.


Environmental Factor: The environment has a huge impact. If a person is living in a happy and calm environment, he will recover soon, but if a person has toxic people all around, he himself becomes toxic.


Symtpoms:


Persistent melancholy: the feeling of sadness and emptiness will remain with the patient.
Loss of Interest: The person lost interest in pre-loved activities and wanted to be anti-social.
Fatigue: Due to a low mood and low self-esteem, the energy remains low, and there is no motivation for the patient to be energetic and do the work.
Sleep disorder: sleep gets disturbed and affects the whole nature of the human
Difficulty in concentration: A person with MDD has no long span of focus because he diverts his mind into negative thoughts.
Feeling of Guilt: They blame themselves for everything; this blame game wants them to be guilty of everything. This feeling of guilt makes them stagnant in their personal and professional lives.
Physical changes: A person with MDD shows social withdrawal and suicidal thoughts.
TREATMENT
CBT: One such treatment that has been demonstrated to be beneficial in treating major depressive disorder is depression-focused psychodynamic psychotherapy.
Medication: Meditation helps them overcome their restlessness. The feeling of being me helps them to be the conqueror.
Change lifestyle: If a person is smoking, he has to change the habits. Having a good is soft and good for you to feel better. Good hydration helps you be more active.
Social support: supporting parents and spouses who make them feel special so they can revert from the MDD and live a joyous life.
Mindfulness: activities of mindfulness such as yoga, aerobic exercise, or even martial arts help you understand the power of good hormones, which stimulate the mood and make a person happier and healthier.

MDD is a very complicated and complex mental disorder that affects the person mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. There are several factors that are the reason why MDD genetics, trauma, or even the loss of a loved one cause a person depression. A person with MDD has to face many challenges, which makes him vulnerable. The signs and symptoms of MDD are severe, so the person is ready to give up on life. All these factors are very serious because being sad around the clock makes a person feel bad about their life. Individuals with MDD can find relief if they recover from the treatment and medication. This will help them to live a meaningful life.
